Thank you so much to U.S. Steel and the Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation for visiting Turtle Creek on Monday night for our STEM Story Night!
Our friend Chris Hannigan of U.S. Steel read a special book titled "Izzy Gizmo and the Invention Convention" by author Pip Jones. Students and their families then had a chance to work on an art project where they had to cut out and decorate a bird while making sure the bird's wings actually worked!
Of course, a visit from Penguins mascot Iceburgh made the night even more enjoyable. He had the students and families up and dancing and having a good time.
Each student was able to take home a book with a STEM theme and U.S. Steel will continue to support the district in its initiatives to help students be active and engaged readers.
