Middle school, elementary school VEX IQ Teams receive awards in competition.

The Woodland Hills Middle School and Elementary School VEX IQ Teams traveled to Seneca, PA on Saturday to compete against 60 Western PA VEX IQ Teams at "The Bash at the Berry Dome" Competition. 
 
Elementary Team 15104A - Robotic Turtles received the Design Award. The team consists of Stella Wheaton, Spencer Morse, Piper Yoder, Kyra Scott, Alex Estep, and Emma Gensure (not pictured).
 
Elementary VEX winners
 
This award is presented to a team that demonstrates the most organized and professional approach to the design process, project and time management, and team organization. This team's Engineering Notebook provides clear and complete documentation of the team's robot design process and the development of their game strategy. The winning team also demonstrates effective communication skills and teamwork. This award has qualified the team for a spot at the Elementary Western PA STATE Championship! 
 
Middle School Team 15104C - Hardwired received both the Robot Skills 2nd Place Award & the Build Award. The team includes Jonas Divelbiss, Rayhan Carreiro, Kamryn Carreiro, Wasim Matiq, and Sam Pittler (not pictured).

The "Robot Skills 2nd Place" Award is presented to the team that has earned the second highest combined Driving Skills Challenge Score and Autonomous Coding Skills Challenge score. 
 
The Build Award is presented to a team that has built the most durable and robust robot.  The robot is reliable on the field and holds up under rigorous competition.  The robot design shows attention to safety and detail.
