A group of high school students visited Turtle Creek Elementary STEAM Academy on Tuesday, April 15 to help them learn more about their VEX Robotics kits.
Dr. Joe Maluchnik began his tenure as the new Superintendent of the Woodland Hills School District this week. As he steps into the role, he shared the following message with the Woodland Hills community.
For over a decade, Turtle Creek School has come alive each March with the whimsical spirit of Mo the Leprechaun. What began as a fun, impromptu idea from Mr. Michael O’Leary, one of the dedicated teachers in the Woodland Hills School District, has now transformed into a beloved multi-day event that engages students of all ages.
Four teams represented Woodland Hills at the 2025 Western Pennsylvania VEX IQ Robotics Competition State Championships. They took home six awards, more than any other district, and one elementary team became the first Woodland Hills team to qualify for the World Championships in Dallas.
Woodland Hills hosted the final VEX IQ Competition of the regular season in Western Pennsylvania on Friday, February 21. With two teams already qualified for states, a third Woodland Hills team used the tournament to earn their spot, while a fourth has also learned they've qualified.
